Bardwell Case and Associates, Architects, Inc. was founded in 1974 by Steve Bardwell and Geoff Case.


They are licensed architects in the state of California and both received their Bachelor of Architecture degrees from California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo. Mr. Case also attended the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning at UCLA. Mr. Bardwell is a licensed contractor in the state of California


In 1986, architect Karen Zindler-Shuler joined the firm as an associate.  Ms. Zindler-Shuler has been involved in the design and construction documentation phases of many projects, including low-income housing built by volunteers and professionals through Habitat for Humanity - LA.


The firm has had a varied experience with nearly all construction types ranging from Type V wood frame to Type I non-combustible.  With this depth of experience and knowledge the firm continues to provide consultation and expert services for forensic construction defect questions.  The firm has a long commitment to providing comprehensive services of quality design and well detailed construction documents, utilizing a strong working knowledge of construction methods and techniques and a thorough working knowledge of codes and regulations within the State of California.


During the past 31 years, the firm has been involved with a wide range of projects including:

•Commercial retail development as large as 250,000 square feet.

•Medical tenant improvement.

•Multiple family housing (both apartments and condominiums) ranging in size from duplexes to developments as large as 500 units and ranging from low to high income housing.
